Since 1997 UMREP implemented many public education and information campaign with impressive measurable results:
During November 2001 – March 2002 CURE had carried out a massive public information campaign “Informed Voters Make Educated Choices” (funded by the National Endowment for Democracy). It was a six-part media campaign that was aimed at empowering Ukrainian citizens at the grassroots level, to be able to make educated choices for parliamentary elections that were held on March 31, 2002, based on access to thorough and objective information. The major project CURE currently implements is Ukraine Reform Education Program (UREP), funded by USAID Mission to Ukraine, Belarus, and Moldova. It is a five-year initiative that started in March 2002. Since November 2002, Center for Ukrainian Reform Education is producing a unique information product – first ever Ukrainian radio drama series. Radio drama (soap opera) “Zhyttia vidstanniu u desiat' khvylyn” (Life in a distance of ten minutes) is produced under financial support from the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation. |
